Custom Neighborhood Tour
Host a private walking tour in your own neighborhood. I research the history, build the route, and lead up to 25 guests. 4-week lead time. Pittsburgh area.
Description
What it is
Invite your neighbors or community group. I’ll research your area, design a route, and guide a one-of-a-kind walk focused on history, architecture, and the stories hiding in plain sight.
What’s included
-
Planning call (20–30 min)
-
Focused archival research for your neighborhood
-
Custom route (90–120 min) with approved start/finish
-
Guided tour for up to 25 people
-
Host packet (route map, safety notes, day-of plan)
-
Basic promo text you can paste into an RSVP or email
Lead time & scheduling
Book at least 4 weeks in advance so I can research. After purchase, you’ll schedule our planning call and request dates.
Weather, pace & safety
Light rain: we walk. Unsafe weather: we reschedule. We keep a steady pace with stops for stories; if the group moves slowly, I’ll shorten the route rather than extend time.
Payment & cancellation
Full payment holds your project. Cancel 14+ days before the tour for credit toward a new date; inside 14 days, fees may apply (weather exceptions).
Who owns the tour?
I retain the route, research, and script. I may adapt it later, offer a public version, or turn it into a booklet or digital guide. You’ll receive a host packet for this event.
What I need from you
-
Neighborhood / municipality and a rough boundary
-
Three possible date windows
-
A suggested meeting spot and indoor backup (library/café)
-
Estimated group size (max 25)
-
Accessibility notes (strollers, steps, hills, length)
-
What you’d like the focus to be (history, spooky, architecture, general)
